Spring Break Orchestra Camp 2027
A Spring Break orchestra camp for El Sistema Texas musicians from Katy, West Houston and the Greater Houston area. Step beyond the rehearsal room for focused orchestral learning and shared camp experiences. The El Sistema Texas Spring Break Orchestral Intensive brings our young musicians together in two ensemble-based blocks in March 2027.

Choose Your Orchestra Camp Block
Overture & Symphony
March 8–10, 2027
Group 1 is for students in the Overture and Symphony ensembles.
Philharmonic & Chamber
March 11–13, 2027
Group 2 is for students in the Philharmonic and Chamber ensembles.
This is an ensemble-based orchestral intensive. Participation is tied to the listed El Sistema Texas ensembles. It is not an open beginner camp. If you are new to our community, contact us about the appropriate program before applying.
Spring Orchestra Camp Auditions & Admission
An audition is required before admission to this ensemble-based camp. Review the block for your current El Sistema Texas ensemble, submit the Spring 2027 application and follow the camp team’s audition instructions.
1. Apply for Your Block
Choose Overture & Symphony or Philharmonic & Chamber, and request overnight or day-only attendance. The team confirms ensemble eligibility.
2. Complete Your Audition
The camp team will confirm the preparation requirements, audition format and arrangements for your ensemble and level.
3. Confirm Your Place
Receive the admission decision, then complete the enrollment and payment steps. Overnight availability is confirmed separately.
Audition dates and repertoire will be provided by El Sistema Texas. Applying or auditioning does not guarantee admission or an overnight bed. Questions? Contact info@elsistematexas.org.
Spring Camp Tuition & Attendance Options

Includes lodging, meals and activities.
Early-Payment Overnight
$150
Available when full payment is completed before February 1, 2027.
Day Only
$100
Select the day-only option when applying.
The $50 per-student reservation is nonrefundable and credited toward the total. Overnight capacity is limited to 35 students. Submitting an application does not reserve or guarantee a bed. The team will confirm availability, the current payment method and final enrollment.

Application deadline: February 28, 2027, at 3:00 PM Central Time.
Final payment deadline: March 5, 2027.
Visiting & International Families
Planning to be in Texas during Spring Break? Please contact El Sistema Texas first to discuss ensemble eligibility and participation requirements. A visit to Texas does not itself qualify a student for this intensive. The final venue address, arrival and departure details, teaching language and any travel-related support must be confirmed before you arrange travel.
Spring Orchestra Camp Questions
Is there a Spring Camp audition?
Yes. Apply for the block corresponding to your ensemble. The team will provide the required preparation and confirm audition arrangements. Camp admission and final enrollment are confirmed after review.
Can families from different cultural backgrounds apply?
El Sistema Texas welcomes families of every cultural background. Participation in this intensive depends on ensemble eligibility, the camp audition and available places. New families should contact the team about joining the appropriate program first.
Who can apply?
Students in Overture and Symphony apply for March 8–10. Students in Philharmonic and Chamber apply for March 11–13. Contact the team if you are unsure of the appropriate block.
Can I choose both blocks?
Both blocks are only appropriate for students officially participating in ensembles from both groups. The team confirms eligibility.
Is my place confirmed when I submit?
No. This is an initial application, without payment collection. Availability, enrollment and any overnight place require confirmation from El Sistema Texas.
Can I ask about financial assistance?
Yes. Select your interest in the application; availability and any further requirements are confirmed individually.
