2026–2027 orchestral auditions in West Houston, welcoming young musicians from across Greater Houston. Submit a Round 1 video; attend a live callback only if invited.
Audition Requirements
All applicants must prepare the following:
1
Scales and technique
Prepare the scales, arpeggios or simple note pattern assigned to your instrument and level.

Solo or etude
Choose the required solo, etude or short exercise for your level. Preparatory is a developmental evaluation.

Orchestral excerpts
Overture: one short excerpt. Symphony: two contrasting excerpts where practical. Philharmonic: assigned advanced excerpts. Chamber: two contrasting chamber excerpts. Preparatory has no required orchestral excerpt.
4
Live callback, only if invited
A Round 2 callback may include selected excerpts, technique and sight-reading. It is not automatically required for every applicant.
