Maestro Carrillo, hailing from Colombia and Venezuela, is a celebrated virtuoso double bassist and distinguished music graduate. His unparalleled instrumental mastery has illuminated stages in some of the globe’s most eminent concert halls and festivals. These include performances at Germany’s Berliner Philharmoniker and Beethovenfest, the Royal Concertgebouw in the Netherlands, Austria’s Wiener Musikverein and Salzburg Festival, England’s Royal Festival Hall, Carnegie Hall in the U.S., and Switzerland’s Lucerne Festival, all as an esteemed member of Venezuela’s Teresa Carreño Symphony Orchestra.

Beyond his illustrious musical journey, Maestro Carrillo is renowned for his managerial finesse in spearheading, organizing, producing, and overseeing artistic, social, and cultural initiatives. His leadership was recognized in 2018 when he was appointed District Cultural Infrastructure Councilor and Representative of Public Show Producers of the Performing Arts by Bogotá’s Mayor’s Office, serving from 2019 to 2022. His responsibilities expanded in 2022 when he became the Culture Director for the Pan American and Caribbean Union For Human Rights.

As a prodigious producer in the Performing Arts, he has orchestrated collaborations with international luminaries like Andrés Cepeda, Herencia de Timbiquí, Yuri Buenaventura, Fonseca, and Santi Cruz. His production expertise was lauded in 2019 with a Latin Grammy for “Best Classical Album of the Year” for “Regreso,” a collaboration with the Nueva Filarmónica orchestra.
