Andres Quesada

Born in Venezuela and raised across multiple countries, I found stability and identity through music. I began studying cello in the United States through my school’s orchestra program, and continued developing my musicianship in high school conservatories offered by Katy ISD and Sam Houston State University, where I trained under Dr. Daniel Saenz and earned a music scholarship. Although I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University, music remained central to my life.

At Texas A&M, I served as Principal Cellist of the Philharmonic Orchestra for three years, leading sectionals and mentoring musicians of varying skill levels. I later became President of the Orchestra Club, where I rebuilt the organization after the pandemic, strengthening community engagement through performances, social events, and student-led ensembles.

My experience expanded into music education through College Station ISD, where I coordinated large-scale rehearsals, concerts, and UIL competitions while providing instruction to young musicians.

I now serve as the Community Coordinator for El Sistema Texas, assisting early-musician ensembles, managing weekly rehearsals, and overseeing volunteer services. I support community outreach through event planning and fundraising, and contribute to organizational growth through interscholastic collaboration. My work focuses on using music to foster belonging, cultural connection, and social impact for underserved youth.
