El Sistema Texas began an online fundraiser campaign to take 15 musicians on an international tour in Rome, Italy, and France. For the first time, members of the Hispanic Children’s Symphony Orchestra will perform overseas, but to guarantee their participation, students need funding to cover travel expenses.
The countdown to the tour has already begun. June 1 is the kickoff date when hundreds of young musicians will express their talent and share their cultural heritage. To secure its participation, El Sistema Texas needs to raise $15,000.
Alvaro Carrillo, founder and CEO of the nonprofit, explained in a statement the purpose of this online fundraiser campaign. “This project allows these young musicians to engage in meaningful cultural exchange, fostering their artistic and personal development. Your support will reaffirm your organization’s commitment to promoting education, the arts, and cultural exchange on an international scale,” reads the GoFundMe statement.
According to the message, the financial support would cover travel, accommodation, meals, and additional expenditures for 15 children.
Carrillo expressed that people interested in becoming donors or sponsors can contact El Sistema Texas. “Our team is ready to provide detailed information about the budget, the specific objectives of the project, and the expected results. We are committed to ensuring transparency and effectiveness in the use of the funds provided,” described Carrillo.

Last January, El Sistema Texas announced that Il Violino Colorato, an orchestral educational program based in Rome, Italy, invited them to join the International Encounter of Children’s Orchestras in Rome 2024.
The tour will start on June 1 and will finish on June 12. El Sistema Texas will perform on stage at the Santa Cecilia Auditorium. The 15 musicians of the Hispanic Children’s Symphony are proficient with the violin, viola, cello, and double bass.
