Paris, France – The European tour of El Sistema Texas began with a resounding success in the City of Light. The children and young musicians of this prestigious orchestral program demonstrated absolute mastery in each piece performed, captivating the Parisian audience with their unmatched talent and passion.
The first concert took place on June 1st at the iconic Seine Musicale, where attendees enjoyed an inspiring demonstration of the DEMOS program by the Philharmonie de Paris. This enriching experience allowed members of El Sistema Texas to exchange ideas and learn from one of the most innovative educational programs in Europe.
The second concert was held on June 4th at the Conservatory of Ermont, followed by a memorable performance on June 5th at the Conservatory of Sarcelles, with the distinguished attendance of the Italian Ambassador in Paris. The repertoire, including Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto for Orchestra in D Major, Café Calypso, El Cóndor Pasa, Csárdás, Chamambo, and Beethoven’s Ode to Joy from the 9th Symphony, was executed with mastery and enthusiasm, leaving a lasting impression on all present.
The synergy and rapport among the attending orchestral programs were palpable, highlighting the collaboration with IL violino colorato from Italy, the Conservatories of Sarcelles and Ermont, and the Quatre Cordes program. Together, these groups created a true musical brotherhood, demonstrating that music transcends borders and unites hearts.
Beyond musical achievements, the representatives from the United States enjoyed magical days in Paris, exploring its beautiful landmarks and monuments. The city welcomed them with open arms, and their farewell was marked by standing ovations, reflecting the positive impact they left in every corner they visited.
Maestra Deborah Delgado from the Conservatory of Sarcelles expressed her gratitude and admiration with heartfelt words: “Thank you for giving me this opportunity, you gave me 10 more years of life with your visit. Bravo for the professional work you do with the kids, who are also fantastic, warm, and extraordinarily talented. I am very moved and motivated for a second encounter; music unites us.”
El Sistema Texas has left a significant mark in Paris, once again demonstrating the transformative power of music and education. This is just the beginning of a series of events that will strengthen cultural and educational ties between our nations.
